What is the Enhancement Fund?

The Enhancement Fund is funded by Yorkshire Forward and the European Social Fund and co-financed monies through the Learning and Skills Council for Yorkshire and Humber.  It was commissioned by the Learning and Skills Council and Yorkshire Forward and awarded to the West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges, with Calderdale College as the accountable body.

The aim of the Enhancement Fund is to engage employers in Yorkshire and Humber in skills development and increase the skills base within the region.  The Enhancement Fund will therefore:

  • Provide further interventions in skills and workforce development which cannot be funded through the Train to Gain service.
  • Increase the numbers of employers undertaking structured learning and development leading to qualifications.
  • Offer support to help develop Higher Level Skills.
  • Provide a mechanism to drive and support a broader range of skills building on a demand-led approach.

The Enhancement Fund’s accountable body is Calderdale College with Delivery Hubs based at Leeds City College's Technology Campus for West, North Yorkshire & Humber and Fusion at Magna Science Centre for South Yorkshire.
